abstract
We have shown in a recent paper that raised cosine pulses minimize the average power needed for communication at a fixed throughput rate over a bandlimited channel. This result is extended in this paper to a multiple access channel for which we demonstrate that the average power is minimized when senders time share the channel and use raised cosine pulses. Some results on the probability of error are included.
