abstract
A new current control scheme for PWM inverters is described. With this scheme the inverter switching frequency and output switching pattern are both predefined. Particular output voltage patterns can be selected by minimizing suitable objective functions. These features yield lower inverter switching losses and reduce inverter and load stresses. Load and reference current correspondence both in amplitude and in phase are maintained. This type of current control is especially suitable for high-performance ac drives operating under field orientation control. Relevant simulation results are used to prove the effectiveness of the proposed current control scheme.
