abstract
The high speed measurements of power system states, especially the measurements of phase angles, will be the crucial part of the future real-time control schemes for transient stability enhancement. The authors have used the well known recursive DFT technique for phasor calculation and enhanced it by fitting the calculated phase angles with linear combinations of exponential functions over finite time windows. The resulting functions show very good fit on a number of simulated scenarios. Some properties of the proposed technique are discussed in the paper and directions for future research outlined.
