KNOWLEDGE REPRESENTATION OF A DATA BASE BY A SEMANTIC NETWORK. Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • This study deals with the knowledge representation of a data base. Several earlier attempts are discussed. The state of the art does not consider the organization structure for which the data base is being built. The approach presented here uses a hierarchical view for this structure, and a semantic network model to represent the knowledge. The network is based on concepts and their interrelationships. The concepts are represented as nodes of the network, and the relationships as directed edges. Algorithms are provided to construct such a semantic net.
