abstract
The waste heat which is generated during industrial heat transfer processes may be recovered through the use of various heat exchange devices. In this paper, the various types of heat exchange systems most commonly used for waste heat recovery are reviewed. They are categorized according to the types of working fluids involved in the heat transfer processes in the systems. Recommendations are also made on how to select a waste heat recovery system which will provide the best financial return and long-term dependable service.
