STACKELBERG GAME BASED MODEL OF HIGHWAY DRIVING Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • In this paper, we have considered the application of Stackelberg game theory to driver behavior modeling in highway driving. Our investigation focuses on developing a 3-person Stackelberg game that simulates driver's reasoning with provisions to incorporate drivers' dispositions so that the driver's reactions can result in different interactions. In order to include uncertainty, the drivers' intentions are also limited or changed by the driver's dispositions. We present two-vehicle and five-vehicle simulations that show different drivers' behaviors according to the dispositions and their interactions. Copyright 2012 by ASME.
