A nonuniform, nonlinear, hydrologic cascade is developed for watershed runoff modelling, and its state-space representation is provided. By applying the cascade model to natural watersheds, an appraisal of its potential in runoff modelling is made. The model parameters are studied regarding their sensitivity. Some common features between the proposed model and several existing runoff models are indicated. (A)
