Digital two-color PIV measurements in a Mach-2.8 boundary layer Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • 1996, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc. A digital two-color particle-image velocimetry (DC2PIV) system is used to make instantaneous planar velocity measurements in a Mach-2.8 boundary layer. Results from DC2PFV measurements of mean streamwise velocity are in agreement with LDV data. As compared with the LDV data, the larger fluctuation in the measured velocity values can likely be attributed to a relatively small sample and a relatively large interrogation volume, both of which can be resolved in future experiments.
