abstract
General design rules for implementing composite catalytic-permselective membranes for hydrogen purification from diesel reformate mixtures using water-gas-shift as the enhancing catalytic reaction are presented. Detailed two-dimensional simulations and preliminary experimental results are also presented to demonstrate this strategy for enhancing the permeance of palladium membranes and enhancing the permselectivity of polymeric membranes. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2012 AIChE Spring National Meeting and 8th Global Congress on Process Safety (Houston, TX 4/1-5/2012).
