Xuthos: A discontinuous galerkin transport solver for NEWT based on unstructured triangular meshes Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • A transport solver has been developed based on a Discontinuous Galerkin Finite Element Formulation with linear and quadratic shape functions. The data structure is general enough to allow for spatial mesh adaptivity. The DGFEM formalism is particularly useful to treat seamlessly problems with locally refined meshes. In the multigroup context, the spatial meshes can be made group-dependent to account for the smoothness of each component of the multigroup scalar flux. Numerical results validate this approach.
