Air stripping and aeration Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • Although much research on physical-chemical aspects of aeration and air stripping has been carried out, very little work has focused on biological aspects of these processes. This article presents a short overview of the growth and control of microbial deposits in aerators, changes in aqueous phase bacterial populations and concentrations upon aeration, as well as the emission of biological aerosols and the factors controlling their viability.
