abstract

• In this work a method is presented for integrating advanced model based controllers in a simultaneous process and control design framework. Parametric programming is used for the controller derivation giving rise to an explicit controller structure that is thus readily incorporated in the design optimization. The key advantages of our approach are highlighted via a binary distillation column motivating example. 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
