abstract
The paper reviews recent research developments in the area of process design and operations under uncertainty. Instead of being exhaustive, the main emphasis in the presentation is placed in linking together various components regarding the characterization and quantification of uncertainty (such as flexibility, controllability, reliability and value of perfect information) in process optimization problems in a unified theoretical way. Modelling issues and numerical techniques are discussed in detail; future research trends are also identified. 1995.
