abstract

• The interactions between maintenance and production planning are studied in this paper A preventive maintenance model is proposed coupled with a multiperiod planning model, which provides the basis for the simultaneous optimization of maintenance and production planning for multipurpose batch plants. The overall problem is formulated as a mixed integer linear programming (MILP). The applicability of the proposed framework is demonstrated by a numerical example. 2000 Elsevier B.V.
