A Framework for Design and Control Optimisation: Application on a CHP System Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • The integration of process design and control aids economically optimal decision making whilst it helps to achieve key control performance objectives. This paper presents a framework for the systematic design and control of an internal combustion engine powered cogeneration system. The framework is based on a dynamic design and regulatory control optimisation step followed by the employment of a multi-parametric model predictive controller design strategy. A case study is presented where the framework is applied on a cogeneration of heat and power system for residential use. 2014 Elsevier B.V.
