abstract
2014 Optical Society of America. We demonstrate utilization of femtosecond-duration laser pulses for two-photonabsorption LIF imaging of atomic species in nonequilibrium plasmas. Femtosecond excitation enables improved signal-to-noise ratio, suppression of photolytic interferences, kilohertz-rate imaging, and potential for collisional quenching-free measurements.
