abstract
By means of ultrafast optical transient spectroscopy and EXAFS we have measured the transient spectra kinetics and Fe-O bond length of the ferrioxalate redox reaction transients. Based on Fe-O bond distances of the photoredox intermediates and quantum chemistry DFT and H-F calculations we propose a photoredox mechanism where photodissociation precedes electron transfer. 2007 Elsevier B.V.
