SOLVENT EFFECTS IN PICOSECOND RELAXATION OF LARGE MOLECULES Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • We describe two picosecond spectroscopic studies which bear on different aspects of solvent effects on ultrafast relaxation in large molecules. Picosecond fluorescence studies have been used to probe the effects of solvent reorientation on fluorescence risetimes (p-dimethylaminobenzonitrile in alcohols), and to obtain information on the ultrafast predissociation behavior of I2 in CCl4. 1978.
