abstract
Volume information writing and reading is demonstrated for two photochromic materials doped in polymer systems that may be utilized in a 3D optical memory. Writing and reading in volume is achieved by means of two-photon processes and a means of erasing by two-photon processes is discussed. Some of the advantages and problems associated with the two-photon 3D memory device are discussed.
