abstract
The kinetics of the photochromic transformation of the fulgide 2-[1-(2,5-dimethyl-3-furyl)ethylidene]-3-isopropylidenesuccinic anhydride have been studied by means of picosecond time-resolved absorption and emission spectroscopy. The steady state emission of this fulgide has been investigated also. The photochromic process is shown to be very fast at room temperature, occurring within twenty picoseconds. 1990.
