abstract
Laser-induced photoluminescence has been used to evaluate the crystal quality and purity of CdTe. Photoluminescence decays from polaritons and bound excitons yield information about exciton dynamics. Both CW and time-resolved low-temperature spectra are presented. The CW spectra are useful for evaluating the crystal quality, and the photoluminescence decays represent the first time-resolved results on single-crystal CdTe.
