Efficient stimulated Raman conversion in gases by high repetition rate picosecond ArF laser pulses Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • Experimental results on stimulated Raman scattering by 10 ps, 300 Hz, 193 nm pulses in gases in the 1-30 atm pressure range is presented. Attention was focused in the Stokes Raman spectra. It was observed that Raman conversion in CH4and H2gases in the pressure range show weak dependence on the repetition rate of ArF laser pulses and energy redistribution among Stokes lines was seen. Gas dispersion at pump wavelength was strong and the angular distribution of the radiation intensity was affected by the pressure. This means that higher order Stokes are the result of four wave mixing processes.
