abstract
Multilayers of bit-oriented data is recorded in a monolithic media using two-photon absorption to obtain high volumetric storage. A parallel data recording technique is used to record these data on different layers within a three-dimensional optical disk. The parallel recording enables high-speed storage of the large amounts of data in multi-layer disks and the parallel recording and reading of data allows the implementation of a page oriented storage system. A theoretical model for recording and read-out processes and a simulation software that numerically simulates recording and read-out for the architecture where data carrying and the layer selecting beams propagate optimize the parallel recording process in the optical disks is developed.
