abstract
Mode-locked laser techniques for obtaining spectroscopic information about ultrafast molecular processes occurring on a picosecond time scale are described. The results of picosecond measurements on several systems are presented as examples of the method. The advantages of employing two dimensional vidicons and recently developed dispersive techniques to obtain time resolved transient spectra with a single laser pulse rather than with multiple pulse techniques are discussed. 1976 SPIE.
