  • The Navier-Stokes system with damping, which is motivated by Stommel-Charney model of ocean circulation, is considered in a large elongated periodic rectangular domain with area of the order -1, as 0. We obtain estimates for the dimension of the global attractor that are sharp as both 0 and 0, where is the viscosity coefficient. 2007 Birkhaueser.
