abstract
An infrared wide-divergence beam roadside communication system is proposed and a discussion is presented of the theoretical background relating to the performance of the system. Also presented are computational results on the performance of the system at various transmission angles and transmitted powers. The results presented are based on some proposed constraints, and on worst-case conditions. There may be some unforeseen circumstances which may hinder the performance of the system.
