abstract
Intrastate motor carrier regulation in Texas has been stringently regulated by the Railroad Commission since 1931. In recent years, selected agricultural interests were able to secure passage of legislation that deregulated carriage of selected agricultural commodities. Regression analysis is used to contrast rate structures for selected commodities in the pre- and post-deregulation period in order to identify the impact of deregulation on rate levels. -from Authors
