DETERMINING A COEFFICIENT IN A 1ST-ORDER HYPERBOLIC EQUATION

abstract

• This paper deals with an inverse problem for a first-order hyperbolic equation: namely, the determination of the coefficient (a, t, p) in pt+ pa+ p = 0. Conditions on the imposed data that lead to a unique solution are presented and an algorithm for the reconstruction of the coefficient is given.
