abstract
Full-volume, three-dimensional measurements of the flow field generated by an spheroidal bubble rising in a small diameter pipe were carried out using the Particle Tracking Velocimetry technique. The flow field is investigated as function of two bubble trajectories: bubble traveling along the pipe core, and bubble rising close to the pipe wall. Ensemble averages of the mean, turbulent and vorticity fields were determined. The transient analysis of the kinetic energy in the viewing volumes is also discussed.
