abstract

• An approach to analysis of multiphase concentrated winding induction machines specifically designed for operation with static power converters was presented and simlated by means of a digital computer simulation in previous papers. In order to substantiate the theoretical conclusions regarding the performance of the multiphase induction motors, an experimental five phase induction motor and its corresponding converter and control were designed and fabricated. In this paper some of the design criteria and the experimental results obtained from the tests are presented and discussed. 1994 IEEE
