• 2014 John Wiley & Sons Ltd. All rights reserved. AC-link Universal power converters are a new class of power converters with numerous advantages. Being universal the input and output of this converter may be connected to dc, single phase ac or multi-phase ac sources or loads. Therefore, this converter may be employed in a variety of applications. The ac-link universal power converter can also interface multiple loads and sources and still remain a single-stage converter. The link in this converter has high frequency alternating current and voltage and by adding a small capacitor to the link, the converter can benefit from the soft switching.
