abstract
(Figure Presented) Special delivery: Macromolecules are delivered to live cells by simple co-incubation with the peptide E5-TAT. The peptide induces endocytic uptake of macromolecules present in the media surrounding cells. The peptide then responds to the acidification of endocytic organelles to promote the cytosolic release of the macromolecules with which it is sequestered. A critical advantage of this approach is that the macromolecules do not need to be conjugated to the delivery peptide. 2010 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
