abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel simplified mathematical analysis technique for modeling and calculating the effect of multiple access interference on bit error rate in optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) systems. Our technique applies to OCDMA systems using optical orthogonal codes (OOC) with optical time-domain spreading. The proposed analysis uses combinatorial methods on the combined signal at the output of the optical correlator decoder to derive a mathematical expression for the bit error rate. 2007 IEEE.
