abstract
A new sensorless commutation scheme based on the terminal measurements of the active phase coil is presented in this paper. In contrast to the conventional method of commutation based on rotor position, this new technique is based on a vector of observable parameters of the active phase coil. Based on the mechanism of electromagnetic energy conversion, the effect of flux linkage in the active phase coils is analyzed to derive a commutation strategy. A digital implementation of the sensorless scheme is presented in this paper.
