In this paper, the gyrator theory is generalized so that it can be applied to multiple-input multiple-output energy systems. A multiport gyrator is defined as a system that follows the same power flow characteristics as a conventional gyrator, and with the use of superposition theorem, the equations describing its behavior are developed. Then, a multiport version of the dual active bridge is analyzed in order to validate the proposed equations. Finally, the network transformation properties of multiport gyrators are explored. 2011 IEEE.
