abstract
2017, Springer International Publishing Switzerland. The removal of the irregular frequency effect is important in wave-body interaction problems, especially for multi-body cases. This paper mainly discusses the extended boundary condition method. To reach a higher accuracy, the singularity resulting from the Green function needs special care. Specifically, analytical integral methods are proposed to treat the log singularity. Finally, results with and without irregular frequency removal are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method. The major contribution of this paper is that we provide a different formula from the previous for the extended boundary condition method and propose four methods to evaluate the log singularity in the wave Green function at the internal free surface. The efficiency and application range of each method are discussed. These methods are proposed for the irregular frequency problem and can be used in a general problem when the integral of the log singularity is of interest.
