abstract
This study develops a dynamic condition-based maintenance strategy for wind turbines. This work was motivated by the need of incorporating a computationally simple maintenance strategy into a wind farm simulation that mimics the dynamic operations of hundred plus wind turbines. The resulting strategy could also benefit actual wind farm operations by providing easily implementable control in field operations and being adaptive to the most recent weather updates. A case study, using field data mainly from the literature, demonstrates that the proposed method has the potential to provide practical guidelines that can reduce the costs as well as enhance the marketability of wind energy.
