abstract

• The erosion of the world's coastlines continues, and one technique to slow the rate of erosion and provide beaches for the public is beach nourishment. The objective of this paper is to describe different dredging equipment and combinations of equipment used for nourishing beaches. An example beach nourishment project is described, and cost and time estimates are determined for different dredging methods for a beach nourishment location along the upper Texas (TX) coast using an offshore sand source.
