abstract

  • Limb casts are commonly employed in equine practice to immobilize the limb and provide mechanical support in a variety of clinical conditions. The successful application of a cast requires proper case selection, a team approach, and adequate preparation prior to the procedure. Careful postoperative monitoring is imperative to avoid serious cast-related complications.
