FURTHER RESULTS CONCERNING THE DYNAMIC-RESPONSE OF SHEAR DEFORMABLE ELASTIC ORTHOTROPIC PLATES

abstract

• AbstractThe dynamic response of orthotropic and transverselyisotropic flat plates to dynamic transverse loading and inplane tensile loads constitutes the main topic of this paper. The dynamic loading conditions considered herein include sine, rectangular and triangular pulses while spatially, they are considered as sinusoidally distributed. The results obtained as per a higherorder plate theory are compared with their first order transverse shear deformation and classical counterparts. In addition, some results concerning the associated freevibration and biaxial buckling of such plates are presented and comparisons with some of the available results are undertaken.
