Method for evaluating gravity effects in the testing of nutation dampers

abstract

• A method is developed for determining the effect of gravity in the testing of nutation dampers on symmetric single or dual spin satellites. The basic theory is developed and then applied to the partially filled viscous ring damper and the spring-mass-dashpot damper.
