abstract
An investigation is made of the stability of a dual-spin satellite with a spring-mass damper on one portion and a partially filled viscous ring damper on the other portion. Time constants are obtained from the approximate equations of motion and then compared with the time constants from numerical integration of the exact equations of motion. For certain configurations, it is shown that a limit cycle can exist. American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc., 1974, All rights reserved.
