abstract
The two time variable method is used to investigate the stability of and the motion about the equilibrium point of an autonomous Hamiltonian system of two degrees of freedom when the Hamiltonian H is indefinite and the relation between the frequencies 1 and 2 of the linearized system is 1 22. Also, the conditions for periodic orbits and the stability of these orbits are obtained. 1971 D. Reidel Publishing Company.
