Covariance as an estimator of orbit prediction error growth in the presence of unknown sensor biases

The effect of an unknown sensor bias that is constant during each track but varies from track to track on orbit determination and the associated covariance obtained by least squares differential correction is investigated. Several simplified problems are analyzed to show the effect and demonstrate how the problem should be treated.
