abstract
Amplification factors of streamwise velocity are investigated in canonical shock-turbulence interactions. The ratio of laminar shock thickness to the Kolmogorov length scale is suggested as the appropriate parameter to understand data from simulations and experiments. The different regimes of the interaction suggested in the literature can also be understood in terms of this parameter. 2012 American Institute of Physics.
