abstract
There are numerous concurrent power transactions in a unified power market, and consequently how to accurately and fairly allocate the transmission system usage and real power loss among the individual transactions becomes a critical problem. An improved Transaction Based Power Flow (TBPF) analysis is proposed in this paper to solve the above problem based on an AC power flow decomposition scheme. The new algorithm has the following two major improvements over the earlier version: first, the computation load has been further reduced to be as much as the computation load of two standard AC power flow analysis; second, the allocation scheme in the new algorithm is independent of the slack bus selections and depends only on the amounts and locations of power transactions. The standard IEEE 14-bus system is used to demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the improved TBPF algorithm.
