abstract
In this paper, a novel numerical scheme is developed for long-term small disturbance voltage stability analysis. The new approach optimally adjusts the load to estimate the maximum allowed load for the system accurately and efficiently. The scheme can be easily integrated with existing methods to solve differential problems, such as the well-known Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg (RKF) method, and can also be extended to the whole family of Runge-Kutta methods. With this new method, both the computation efficiency and accuracy of loadability margin estimate are significantly improved. Numerical tests have demonstrated the validity of our new technique and its great potential for industry applications. 2006 IEEE.
