Fast Dynamic Voltage Stability Margin Estimation by Integration with Intelligent Load Adjustments

A new fast computation scheme is developed in this paper to accurately estimate the dynamic voltage stability margin for power systems by adjusting the load increase ratio. This new technique can be easily integrated with existing methods to solve differential problems. The validity of our proposed approach is proven based on the well-known Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg (RKF) method, and can be extended to other explicit single-step methods easily. Numerical tests demonstrate that the new approach is very practical and has great potential for industry applications. © 2005 IEEE.
