abstract

  • It is proved that if Y ⊂X are metric spaces with Y having n≧2 points then any map f from Y into a Banach space Z can be extended to a map {Mathematical expression} from X into Z so that {Mathematical expression} where c is an absolute constant. A related result is obtained for the case where X is assumed to be a finite-dimensional normed space and Y is an arbitrary subset of X. © 1986 Hebrew University.
