abstract
The paper describes a new IEEE standard developed by the Power System Relaying Committee. It is intended for use by digital computer based devices which generate or collect transient data from electric power systems. The standard should facilitate exchange of the transient data for the purpose of simulation, testing, validation or archival storage. This paper provides an overview of the IEEE Standard, (C37.111) which should be referred to for a full description of the types and structures of the data files. It is expected that the standard will be particularly useful for users of digital relays, digital fault recorders, or digital simulation programs of electrical transient phenomena. 1992 IEEE
